Routine maintenance 19 March

The Council website is undergoing routine maintenance on Tuesday 19 March between 12 and 5 pm. This may result in the site being unavailable for a brief period during this time.

If an item has not been returned to the library, an email reminder will be sent out three weeks after it is due to be brought back.

You can renew your items via the online catalogue or you can call or email the library at


Overdue books

  • Adults: 15p per day (to a maximum of £7.50)
  • Children (up to 12 years of age): No charge
  • Teenagers (13 - 17 years): 5p per day (to a maximum of £2.50)
  • Over 60s: 5p per day (to a maximum of £2.50)

Lost or damaged books

You will be asked to pay all or part of the replacement cost of any books or items that are lost.

Please check all books before you borrow them and point out any damage to the staff at the counter.

If a book or other item is damaged while you have them on loan please tell a member of staff.

DVD and video

DVD 1 week loan

  • £1.00

Overdue charges:

  • Late return charge £1.00 per week to a maximum of £18.00 per item


CD ROM 1 week loan

  • £2.60

Overdue charges:

  • Late return charge £2.80 per week to a maximum of £28.00 per item

Library card replacement

  • Adult: £2.00
  • Children and teenagers & over 60s: £1.00


  • Free (£3.40 if an interlibrary loan is necessary)

Photocopying and printing


  • Black & white A4:10p per sheet
  • Black & white A3: 20p per sheet
  • Colour A4: 60p per sheet
  • Colour A3: £1.00 per sheet

  • Children’s Homework Printing (5 Black and White sheet and 1 Colour): Free of Charge

Standard price Royal Mail Stamps are sold in many branches at the current 1st and 2nd class rate.

Local Studies and Archives

Lost cards

Report lost cards to your nearest library as soon as possible so it can be cancelled.

You are responsible for any books borrowed until your card has been cancelled.
