Saint Chad’s Gardens

Saint Chad’s Gardens and King George V Playing Fields, are situated in the centre of the tourist village of Uppermill in the Saddleworth area of Oldham.

The park is located off the High Street, Uppermill and can also be accessed via Wade Row and St. Marys Gate.

Although only a small park it is steeped in history, housing the site of the former 17th Century abbey. The park proves to be very popular as it also links up with the linear walks along the River Tame and the Huddersfield Canal.

Facilities include a popular children’s play area which has an array of equipment. It also hosts ornamental gardens and a field which stages a number of events throughout the summer. It is a relaxing place to sit and watch the world go by.
