5. Single-use plastics

Single-use plastics can have a damaging effect on the environment.

As a result, at Full Council on 28 March 2018, it was agreed that we would work towards becoming a single-use plastic free Council.

That means we will be reviewing our buying policies for things like cups, spoons, straws and cutlery and promoting the use of non-plastic recyclable alternatives. 

A strategy was adopted by Cabinet on 17 December 2018.
