Stay at home as much as possible, work from home if you can, limit contact with other people, keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible), wash your hands regularly.

The complaints team is currently operating an online only service.

Normal response times may be affected by coronavirus but we will get back to you as soon as we can.

During this period, the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman has recognised the unprecedented challenges all Council services are facing.

With that in mind, they have currently suspended taking of new complaints to give Local Authorities the capacity to focus on the coronavirus issues but will resume normal service as soon as is possible:

Statutory timescales for dealing with Children’s Complaints have also been temporarily eased to allow Stage 3 Review Panels to be completed as soon as practicable rather than within set timescales.

This temporary change in the law will be in place until September 2020.


If your complaint relates to a Council service that has been disrupted by coronavirus, we will log your comments as feedback in the first instance and you may not receive a formal response.

We welcome comments from people who use our services and will use any feedback to identify how we can improve our services in the future.
