Avoid a local lockdown

Do not make visits to other people's homes or gardens. Restrictions on care home visiting are not being relaxed. Those who are shielding should continue to take extra care.

How do you support a child’s learning and development?

Our team will help support parents using their EYFS booklets and developmental journeys plan achievable next steps together, providing opportunities for parents to feedback their progress at home and for us to share appropriate speech/activities for their child at their stage of learning.

How do you adapt for a child with extra needs?

We work with other professionals who give us advice what equipment/activities would be beneficial for each child, providing opportunities for children with send work one to one with their key worker on these achievable targets

How accessible is your service, outside and inside?

Wheelchair access throughout the school grounds into our pre-school, open plan area to move about.

How do you involve children in outings and trips?

We make sure any school trip is accessible for all needs.

How do you support children when they start and leave?

All new children’s parents receive a one-page profile-so all children are treated the same from the start of their journeys, using these to settle in and identify early needs. We work on achievable next steps throughout their time and have short visits in reception class from the age of 3 to help every child prepare and settle for their transition.

How are you/staff trained in extra needs?

Staff meetings, we fill in paperwork together, so all staff are involved with hands on learning, so all staff feel confident with their SEND key working children and know what they need to be working on before their next review meetings

What is your policy on compliments, complaints, concerns?

All information is available for parents on our notice board explain who our setting SENCO is, what to do if you have a concern or complaints procedures, I will log any complaints and expect a call or visit from the authority if the issue cannot be resolved in our setting.
