Addiction to medication: support and advice group

Age

People over 16

Description

Prescription medication can be highly addictive, particularly tranquilisers, but you don't have to stay dependent on them. Tranx is a self–help group giving support and advice to people who have become addicted to medicines. Whether you're using tranquilisers or other prescribed medication such as antidepressants or painkillers, we can help you to get through withdrawal. Formed in 1989, the group has featured its work on BBC Television, BBC radio 4 and a recorded radio drama. We meet on Monday Mornings between 11am–1pm. To meet others in your situation, to to gain advice, you can turn up although its useful if you call ahead first so the groups can see how they can help you. It's free to join, although we appreciate donations for tea and coffee.
