Oldham Council will not use cookies to collect personally identifiable information about you. We do not use cookies to access data from your hard drive, to determine your e-mail address, or to view data in cookies created by other websites. Site cookies used on www.oldham.gov.uk

  • TEST_COOKIE - Used to determine whether your browser has the ability to store cookies.
  • PHPSESSID - A session cookie used for storing and retrieving values for a user. The information stored is kept server side and only the unique ID stored in the actual cookie will be sent back and forth between the user and the server. The information stored on the server will remain in the server’s memory until the session expires. The cookie itself contains no personal information. Expires: at end of session.
  • nmstat - This cookie is used to help record the visitor’s use of the website. It is used to collect statistics about site usage such as when the visitor last visited the site. This information is then used to improve the user experience on the website. This Siteimprove Analytics cookie contains a randomly generated ID used to recognize the browser when a visitor reads a page. The cookie contains no personal information and is used only for web analytics. Expires: 1001 days. 
  • pb_userid - Randomly generated session ID. Does not contain any personal information. Expires: at end of session.
  • PETestCookie - Used to test if cookies are enabled in the browser. Created and deleted instantly
  • PELanguageCookie  - Stores the language chosen by the user. Expires after 12 hours.
  • ASP.NET_SessionId -  When you navigate to the site, the server establishes a unique session for you that lasts for the duration of your visit. For each session, it maintains session state information where applications can store user-specific information in a non-persistent cookie.  The information stored on the server will remain in the server’s memory until the session is either explicitly removed or expired (by default a session expires after 20 minutes of inactivity). Stats cookies

We use Google Analytics to collect statistical data about our visitors. We collect this information in a way that does not identify you and the data is not shared with anybody else.

  • __utma Keeps track of the number of times a visitor has been to the site pertaining to the cookie, when their first visit was, and when their last visit occurred.
  • __utmb Records moment in time when a visitor enters a site and expires at the end of the session.
  • __utmc Records moment in time when a visitor leaves a site and expires after 30 minutes.
  • __utmz Keeps track of where the visitor came from, what search engine was used, what link was clicked on and what keyword was used.

  • PREF - Preferences for various services on Google. Expires: 730 days.
  • NID - Unique identifier given to allow traffic analysis to Google Maps. Data is only used in aggregate. Expires 183 days.
  • VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE - Unique identifier given to allow tracking of YouTube video views. Data is only used in aggregate. Expires: 240 days.
  • SNID - Unique identifier given to allow traffic analysis to Google Maps. Data is only used in aggregate. Expires: 183 days.
  • pb_userid - Randomly generated user ID. Does not contain any personal information. Expires: 9413 days.
  • DAPLAY - Visitor info. Contains a unix timestamp of when the site was visited and the session ID granted to the visitor. Does not contain any personal information. Expires: 1 hour.
  • SESS544b2029acbc5d4a85eb66ff6a406a51 - Randomly generated session ID. Does not contain any personal information. Expires: 24 days.
  • Flash - Expires: immediately.
  • daily - User statistics (for example which site the user came from. Expires: 2 days).
