In Oldham, 30% or 10,000 tonnes of all the waste in our general rubbish (grey bins) is food.
Food waste which could have been easily avoided. Not only does this cost the Council over £3m to dispose of each year but the environmental costs of growing, producing, manufacturing and transporting this food are staggering.
