Oldham Council is committed to making Greater Manchester a clean energy leader, and has committed to a target of cutting emissions to 48 per cent of their 1990 levels by 2020.
To support this ambition, we’re supporting the Big Clean Switch that is helping businesses, residents and the public sector to switch energy suppliers to those that use clean energy.
Clean energy means power generated from renewable sources – sun, wind, water (rivers, tides or wave power) and biofuels (usually gas released by rotting food and agricultural waste) that has little impact in terms of climate change and air pollution compared to energy created from fossil fuels.
Anyone can use the website to switch energy providers, and not only will you be reducing the environmental impact of energy used, but a typical home could save over £300 when switching to clean energy from a ‘big 6’ standard variable tariff.
