The Pennine Edge Forest is the woodland and environmental initiative for the east of Greater Manchester conurbation, made up of the boroughs of Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport and Tameside.
The Community forests programme was established in the 1990’s to progress community forestry as a mechanism to improve the environmental image and quality of the region in order to project a positive image for investors and visitors and improve the overall quality of life for those who live and work in the North West.
