We are carrying out some maintenance work on our My Account system between 5 - 8 March 2021. Some services will be unavailable during this time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Affected services

National restrictions are now in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus. However, Oldham Library Service will continue to provide limited services at five sites:

  • Oldham
  • Crompton
  • Failsworth
  • Lees
  • Delph

Opening hours are as follows:

  • Oldham  Monday – Saturday 10am - 5pm
  • Failsworth, Lees, Crompton  Monday – Friday 10am - 2pm and Saturday 10am -1pm
  • Delph is open for Click and Collect only Tuesday and Thursday 2 - 5pm and Saturday  10am -1pm

Book browsing at all sites will not take place but you can still take out books at the five libraries, via a ‘click and collect’ service for pre-ordered/reserved material.

You can also return books to any of the libraries listed.

Digital support

Oldham Libraries are currently offering PC access and printing facilities at 4 of our open libraries:

  • Oldham
  • Crompton
  • Lees
  • Failsworth

Library members will be able to use a limited number of public computers for pre-booked one-hour sessions.

  • Slots can be booked by telephoning 0161 770 8000

Free public wifi is also available at these locations.

In partnership with The Good Things Foundation we have distributed 40 devices with data to residents without internet access at home and are soon to launch a device lending and gifting scheme targeting those most at risk of digital exclusion.

We offer digital support via our social media channels;

We have moved our Digital Drop In sessions online and share resources and create content to support digital skills, and to support access to a wide ranging digital library service including eBooks, newspapers, magazines and online resources for research and learning.

Click and Collect

During lockdown, some of our libraries will be open for a Click and Collect book service. You can tell us what type of books you like to read and staff will make selections on your behalf. They will then be packed ready for you to collect from your chosen library.  You will receive an email when your books are ready.

The ‘click and collect’ service will be administered from temporary desks located in the entrances of the libraries in the above list. Orders must be placed online using the following link:
