
The Southern Pennine Rural Regeneration Company - 'Pennine Prospects' - is a non profit company with a membership of local authorities, government, private and voluntary bodies.
Pennine Prospects aims to:
Raise the profile and image of the South Pennines
Protect and enhance the area’s existing natural assets and heritage
Link urban and rural regeneration processes across the three city regions (Leeds, Manchester and Central Lancashire) that border the South Pennines
With a population of around 450,000 the South Pennines covers the countryside of Oldham, Burnley, Pendle, Rochdale and Rossendale on the west of the Pennines, and Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Craven to the east.
All the local authorities within the South Pennines, Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Natural England and representatives from the voluntary and community sector have come together to form the new Rural Regeneration Company.
