Safer Food Better Business Award

New food safety legislation now requires all catering food businesses to write and operate a food safety management policy because these policies significantly raise the standard of food safety and reduce the risk of food poisoning to a minimum.

Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) is an excellent food safety management system and Oldham Council was awarded a grant to run SFBB workshops to help caterers to implement this system and comply with the law.

After a food business has received training and intensive mentoring from Food Safety Officers they are assessed to strict criteria before they can be awarded a Safer Food Better Business Certificate. This certificate can be displayed on the premises to inform customers of the premises' wholehearted commitment to food safety.
