The Radclyffe School

Two state of the art secondary schools now open

The doors have now opened to Oldham's brand new multi-million pound state of the art secondary schools.

Around 3,000 students have now taken their places at The Radclyffe Specialist Technology College and Failworth School, a Specialist Sports College and the new facilities are already transforming and enriching their learning.

Delivered on time and on budget, both schools provide modern, sustainable and inspiring learning environments that will benefit the whole community - and show just what can gbe achieved for every Oldham secondary school pupil through the Borough's Biulding Schools for the Future programme.

The students and staff have access to a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities including flat screen televisions and ICT suites for every subject faculty and interactive whiteboards in every classroom. As well as unrivalled sporting facilities, there are also fully kitted out practical rooms for a wide range of curriculum areas such as pottery, drama, and recording music. And at the heart of each school's innovative and creative designs are spiral staircases and impressive open-air covered atriums that echo Manchester's Trafford Centre.

The new schools were built as part of a Private Finance Initiative partnership between Oldham Council and Academy Services Oldham Limited (a joint venture between Kier Gourp plc and Dexia Public Finance Bank).

There will soon be a photo gallery of the two new schools available on these pages. In the meantime explore the groundbreaking modern building design of The Radclyffe School for yourself by taking a virtual tour:
