Nearly £650 million will be invested in Metrolink.
Plans
Initially extend Metrolink to:
Oldham and Rochdale using the existing rail lines
Droylsden town centre on the Ashton-under-Lyne line
St Werburgh's in Chorlton on the Manchester Airport line
Later plans are to extend Metrolink to:
Oldham and Rochdale town centres
The full route to Ashton-under-Lyne
Manchester Airport/East Didsbury

The Oldham Loop Line is closed until the Metrolink opens as far as:
Central Park - spring 2011
Oldham Mumps - autumn 2011
Rochdale - spring 2012
