The NDC Celebrates Black History Month 2008

Residents and NDC staff along with partners and agencies all celebrated the Black History Month 2008, in spectacular style at the Honeywell centre with an array of excellent events and activities on show.

Neighbourhood Agreements Go Live
The third Neighbourhood Together Agreement " Home Sweet Home" went live on the 24th October 2008 at the Honeywell Centre.  where in attendance was around 100 residents, partners and agencies who signed up. The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Shoab Akhtar and local MP Micheal Meacher also attended along with many RSL's (Registered social landlords).

Coming Soon NDC EID Party

Celebrate EID at the Honeywell Centre - a night of fun, games and culture. there will be Henna threading, stalls with gifts and face painting for the children.

This event will be 4-8pm on Saturday 6th December at the Honeywell Centre. Tickets are limited so book early to avoid dissappointment. They will be available from the Honeywell Centre or NDC's office at Langham House on Ashton road, prices are £1 per adult and 50p for children over 8 years old and free for under 8's.

Children under 16 will not be admitted without an adult.

There will be raffles and exciting prizes to add to the excitment of the might as well as music and a fashion show for your entertainment,. The eveining will also include an Asian meal.

NDC Christmas Party

Christmas is coming to Hathershaw & Fitton Hill on the 10th December from 5pm at Villages with local resident and Thai boxing gold medal  champion Andrew Lofthouse along with Master kevin will be switching on the lights, then moving through the estate with the procession up the Honeywell Centre where they will be an array of activities and entertainment waiting for us.

Andrew along with Master Kevin will again switch the lights on at the Honeywell centre and then the fun begins. There will be a Staff Pantomine for everybody's entertainment along with Indian Dancers, Polish dancers, a raffle, a Brass Band, childrens entertainers and Santas Grotto. All Stars Drama group will be closing the show with a spectacular performance.

Hathershaw and Fitton Hill NDC

New Deal for Communities in Hathershaw & Fitton Hill is one of 39 programmes across the country.

The Government has funded the programme to regenerate the area with £53m. The Programme started in 2001 and will continue until 2011. It is a resident-led regeneration programme and is governed by a Management Board which consists of residents, key agencies and partners.

The vision for the New Deal for Communities Programme in Hathershaw & Fitton Hill is;

Hathershaw & Fitton Hill will be a place where people choose to live and work, with a community to which they are proud to belong.

Over the past four years the Programme has undergone a process of change and has recently been restructured into six key themes. These are:
