Planning Application Checklist Consultation

From 6th April, the Government is changing the law on validating planning applications.

Wide reaching changes to planning applications submissions in England and Wales are on the way. The Government is introducing mandatory national standard planning application forms (1 App) from 6 April 2008. These will replace all local application forms so that applicants will complete the same form wherever they apply for planning permission. The Government have also issued guidance to Local Authorities of national submission requirements and recommended that Authorities have their own local requirements.

Oldham Council is now consulting all users of the planning system on their ‘Draft Applications Validation Checklist’ (see below). The checklists will give greater consistency of approach to the validation process as well as clearer guidance.
