Environmental Health
The role of Environmental Health is to protect and enhance the environment of people who work, live and visit Oldham.
We are responsible for the delivery of a broad range of mandatory statutory services that contribute to the promotion of a healthy and safe local living and working environment for residents, visitors and workers.
We are committed to providing a service that is continuously improving to meet the needs of our customers and offers value for money.
Environmental Health is part of the council's Environmental Services Directorate and delivers local services through operational teams of Environmental Health Practitioners, Enforcement Officers and Technicians.
Environmental Health delivers the following services:

- Animal Welfare
- Animal Warden
- Buildings Open to Access
- Contaminated Land
- Drains and Sewers
- Environmental Action Unit
- Food Safety which includes:
- Infectious Diseases
- Health & Safety
- Noise Nuisance and Pollution Control
- Pest Control
- Public Health which deals with:
- Land detrimental to Amenity
- Private property in Disrepair
- Unauthorised Encampments of Gypsies
- Smoke Free Oldham / Tobacco Control
