The Department of Health has chosen Oldham as one of 50 local authorities to be involved in the 2007 – 2008 Communities for Health programme.
Communities for Health is a community led programme, which aims to improve health and reduce health inequalities in Oldham. It sees community and voluntary groups working with Oldham Council to make the borough a healthier place.
There are currently 12 projects taking place in Oldham as part of the programme, which cover many of the most challenging health issues facing our communities today. The projects cover a range of activities such as dance, cycling, keep fit and cookery, as well as offering information, advice and support about diabetes, cancer and drugs and alcohol.
No matter what your age or background, this is your chance to take part to help put your community at the heart of improving health.
