If you wish to be married at one of the venues licensed in Oldham but you live elsewhere it is possible to make a provisional booking either by phone or in person until notice can be given to the Superintendent Registrar of the district of residence.

A nationally set fee is payable in respect of each notice. In addition a fee set by the Local Authority for the attendance of a Superintendent Registrar and a Registrar on the day of the marriage. All fees payable for the service are required to be paid in advance of the wedding day at least two weeks prior to the date of the marriage. Such fees are revised annually.

You may wish to make arrangements to meet the Superintendent Registrar who will perform the ceremony beforehand to discuss your wishes for the wedding ceremony. Enhancements such as poetry readings may be incorporated in to the wedding service provided they are of a non religious nature.
