Right to Buy
Click here to download the Buying Your Council Home booklet
You may have the right to buy your council-owned home if:
- You have been a tenant with us (or with another council or housing association) for two or more years
- You do not live in a home exempt from the legislation, such as specialist sheltered accommodation or a specially adapted home
Please Note: As per the 2004 Housing Act, tenancies commencing after the 18th January 2005 only qualify for Right to Buy after 5 years.
You can buy your home at a discounted price below the market value based on the amount of time you have been a public sector housing tenant.
To request an information pack and application form please email: fcho.homeowners@oldham.gov.uk
