Ashton Road Central was identified as an area in need of further consultation. In May/June 2008 consultation events resulted in an improvement programme to be implemented.

394 – 420 Ashton Road
350 – 366 Ashton Road
Alleyway Resufacing to:
- rear of 12 - 68 Hathershaw Lane and 1 – 47 Alton Street
- rear of 394 – 444 Ashton Road and 1 – 45 Ethel Street
- rear 2 – 28 Ethel Street. 35 – 63 Hollins Road and :
14 – 34 Alton Street
- rear of 19 – 33 Hollins Road
- rear of 2 – 8 Denbigh Street
Environment Improvements
-Improvements to 2 key sites within the area.
In dividing the hoarding site at the junction of Hathershaw Lane and Ashton Road to create a welcoming land mark using public art to create an eye catching and high quality public space,
The second site is the Earl Mill green space to open up the site and create an attractive useable space. Both sites are on the Ashton Road Corridor
