Summer University

The Countdown is on!!


The exciting Summer University 2009 is coming to Hathershaw, Fitton Hill and the wider Medlock Vale Wards between 27th July - 29th August. Summer University is for young people between 8 & 19 years and there's loads to do whatever your taste for adventure. From Snowboarding to graphic design and photography, to dance, rugby, survival skills courses, make-up and beauty and loads more. Interested? then read on.

This is the first Summer Univeristy outside London and the excitment is growing with only 28 days to go. The programme will be ready soon which will have all the information you need to enrol and get involved. We'll be having a launch event on the 29th June at the Horizon Skatepark in Fitton Hill to kickstart the event, so come along and find out more.

The third fantastic Hathershaw & fitton Hill In Bloom competition is on its way. Last year we had over 30 fantastic entries and the judges were spoilt for choice when it came to selecting the winners. Thi syear's competition promises to be even hotter.
This year we have changed the catagories slightly to give eveyone, no matter how big or small your garden the chance to enter.

So if you fancy winning national gardening vouchers worth up to £100, there still time to enter. Th closing date for entries is the 26th June and you can download an entry form just click on the link, fill it in and drop if off at Langham House or Villages Housing Offices.

Hathershaw and Fitton Hill NDC

New Deal for Communities in Hathershaw & Fitton Hill is one of 39 programmes across the country.

The Government has funded the programme to regenerate the area with £53m. The Programme started in 2001 and will continue until 2011. It is a resident-led regeneration programme and is governed by a Management Board which consists of residents, key agencies and partners.

The vision for the New Deal for Communities Programme in Hathershaw & Fitton Hill is;

Hathershaw & Fitton Hill will be a place where people choose to live and work, with a community to which they are proud to belong.

Over the past four years the Programme has undergone a process of change and has recently been restructured into six key themes. These are:
