Mumps Regeneration
Oldham Council is working with partners to regenerate the Mumps area as an in-town business and residential location.
Mumps Masterplan
Oldham Council appointed regeneration consultants Roger Tym and Partners to create a development framework that would help direct the regeneration of Mumps.
Produced in November 2007, the development framework proposes the development of:
•Commercial office space to the east of Mumps Bridge
•Creative industries workspace around Rhodes Bank
•Residential units to the west of Mumps Bridge with many arranged around a central, urban parkland
•A Metrolink station
Mumps Regeneration Activity
A number of public, private and community based developments are now at various stages of delivery. They include:
•Completion of an office development, ‘Whitney Court’, at Southlink Business Park
•Completion of an apartment building, ‘The Victory’, on Union Street
•Construction of an apartment building on the Cardinal Street School site
•Construction of apartments as well as office and retail space within the Natwest Bank and Northern Carpet Supplies buildings
•Construction of offices and apartments within the Windsor Works building
•Construction of an apartment building on the Cardinal Street Motors site
