What is e-Learning

e-learning is a way of training, which is enhanced by technology. It can be delivered via the Internet or an intranet. e-learning training material can be accessed by any computer with an Internet connection which gives you flexibility of being able to work, at a time and place that is convenient to you.

The interactive module provides an enjoyable learning experience, which also tests your knowledge and progress, and provides a record of your achievement.

Awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect – Core Module

The Aim

The aim of this module is to inform you of the various types of neglect and abuse inflicted upon children and to explain what you must do if you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected.

Learning Objectives

On completing this learning module you should be able to;

  • Understand the various types of child abuse and neglect
  • Identify the signs and what to look for
  • Know how to ask questions if you suspect a child is being abused
  • Know steps to take if you suspect abuse is happening
  • Know what happens after a referral is made to Social Care
  • Know what to do if a child or an adult discloses abuse
  • Understand the importance of keeping records
  • Understand the importance of multi-agency working

The module takes roughly two hours to complete, with a Quiz at the end of training material that will score your answers. To pass the module you must complete all the training material and receive a 75% + pass mark.
