Could you foster?

Yes...

You can foster if you:

  • Are over 21 years old.

  • Have a spare bedroom for a child or children.

  • Can provide safe, stable and loving home.

  • Have the ability to work as part of a team with the child's own familiy, social workers, teachers etc.

  • Have the time to care for a child or young person.

Don't worry, there is no such thing as a 'typical' foster carer so please do not think we will turn your down!

The children and young people who need care range from infants to teenagers. Like all children they are very much individuals, which is why we need foster carers from all walks of life – including people who are single, in a relationship, married or divorced, have children already or no children at all, employed or unemployed, from any ethnic background and regardless of sexuality.

As long as you are caring, understanding and enjoy children’s company we want to hear from you!

Will anything prevent me from becoming a foster carer?

  • Certain criminal convictions.

  • Being under the age of 21 years old.
