The Unitary Development Plan (UDP) sets out policies and proposals for the development and use of land in the Borough over a fifteen year period. For further information regarding the background and purpose of the UDP see “What is the Oldham Metropolitan Borough Unitary Development Plan?”
The UDP Proposals Map shows where sites have been allocated for specific use and where certain area-specific policies may apply, such as Green Belt.
The UDP was formally adopted on the 14th July 2006 and now supersedes the previous Unitary Development Plan that was adopted in April 1996.
The UDP took effect from this date and is part of the statutory Development Plan for the Borough. It provides the framework for all new developments and will be used
to inform decisions relating to the determination of
planning applications. To guide these decisions the UDP sets out policies and proposals for the development and use of land in the Borough. The UDP identifies the sites in the Borough where it is proposed to permit housing, employment and shopping developments, amongst others, to take place.
An interactive proposals map has now been produced. This online version of the proposals map provides links between areas shown on the map and the policies/proposals that relate to the areas. Further information about the interactive proposals map is available by clicking on the map or the link below.
If you have any comments or suggestions to make, or have any questions relating to the interactive mapping please contact the Map Enquiries Team at map.enquiries@oldham.gov.uk.
