Oldham Local Development Scheme

“Managing the Local Development Framework”

The Council has prepared a document - known as the Local Development Scheme (LDS) -  setting out how the Local Development Framework (LDF) will be prepared. The LDS details the number, content and preparation timescales of the various documents that will make up the LDF.

Government Office for the North West required all local authorities to revise their LDS for end March 2007. The revised Oldham LDS has now been approved and formally took effect from 28 March 2007. The latest version is 'Issue 4'.

The LDS also includes details of the timetable for preparing a Greater Manchester Joint Waste Development Plan Document, which is being produced by the Greater Manchester Geological Unit on behalf of the ten Greater Manchester local planning authorities.

The LDS will be monitored, reviewed, rolled forward and updated on an annual basis.
