Archived Site Allocations Development Plan Document

We are currently working on the Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD). This will set out which land in the Borough will be allocated for particular uses such as housing, or business and industry, as well as areas for protection.

What stage are we at?

We are currently at an early stage of developing the document. As part of this we are carrying out a ‘Call for Sites’ exercise. This is a survey to identify:

  • Sites that you think should be protected – for example, an open space that you think should be protected for recreational use, or a business estate that you think should be protected to provide local jobs.

  • Sites that you think could be put to better use – for example a vacant site that you think is an eyesore and needs improving.

  • Sites that you think should be developed – for example a site that you think would be better developed for housing, business, or another use.

How to suggest a site

The period in which to suggest sites has now ended. If you require any further information, please contact us on 0161 770 4151, 4163, or 1672 or by e-mail at spi@oldham.gov.uk

What happens next?

After being assessed the suggested sites will feed into the next stage of producing the Site Allocations DPD. Sites to be included in the DPD will be subject to further consultation with the community and stakeholders at later stages in its preparation.
