Phase One
Phase One of this pioneering research took place in 2005 and involved asking more than 3,000 children and young people what their needs were around the five Every Child Matters outcomes.
To illustrate the findings of Phase One a song was written, produced and performed by more than 100 of the Borough’s children and young people.
The lyrics came directly from children and young people themselves and the result is a powerful and emotive song articulating those needs. It is a powerful reminder to all that Every Child does Matter.
The CD and DVD have received widespread recognition nationally with both the Prime Minister and Children’s Minister praising the project. Phase One was also short listed for a prestigious Municipal Journal (MJ) Award in 2006.
