Facilities exist in certain circumstances for notice of marriage to be given by the party/ parties to the marriage to the Superintendent Registrar at the Register Office for the district where they reside when the marriage is to take place in another country. In such cases initial enquiries should be made with the Consular Officer for the country concerned for advice as to what documents are required to be presented to the marriage authorities before the marriage can proceed.
