Life for a Life: Memorial Trees and Forests

Planting a new tree, or installing a bench or plaque, helps people to come to terms with their loss and creates a special place for friends and family to visit and to remember and reflect.

'Life for a Life' is a registered charity that offers you the chance to commemorate your loved ones by planting memorial trees in one of thirty woodland locations across the United Kingdom.

Oldham Council is a partner of this charity and has donated land in the Oldham area that has enabled 'Life for a Life' to open two such memorial forests at both Salmon Fields and Tandle Hill Country Park. A further three sites within the Oldham Borough are at Dr Kershaw's Hospice, Dovestone Reservoir and Strinesdale Country Park.
