There are various types of fostering. These include:
Long-term fostering - Most children and young people who are fostered will return to their birth families. However, if this is not possible then we must consider the best way for them to have a permanent family. Long-term fostering is where a child or young person who cannot return home lives with the same foster carer/s until they are older and are ready to live on their own.
We desperately need long-term foster carers for children aged five to 10 years old who are in our care.
Short term fostering - allows foster carers to look after a child or young person for a weekend up to two years stay. The aim of short term fostering is to get the child home to their family as soon as possible.
We desperately need short term foster carers for children aged 0 to seven years old who are in our care.
