How it works

You will be asked about your abilities, experience and interest to help build a picture of the kind of support you require.

You will contribute to your development plan that sets out what needs to be done to find and keep a job.

This plan changes over time and shows who does what and when.

A typical plan might include:

  • Access to computers, jobsearch software and resource materials

  • Advice on in-work and disability benefits

  • Applying for “Access to Work” grants.

  • Checking suitable training options

  • Coaching in job skills both on and off employer premises

  • Details of work tasters and planned periods of work experience

  • Exploring job options and researching entry requirements.

  • Help applying for jobs

  • Personal objectives such as the development of social skills

  • Practising job interview skills

  • Regular visits to check on progress

  • Training in the use of public transport

Eligibility

If you have a disability that affects your chances of getting or keeping a job, you may be eligible (eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis).

  • You must live in Oldham

  • You may be in education

  • You may or may not have worked before

  • Your disability may be physical, learning or sensory

Candidates will arrive with a tailored development plan designed to effectively integrate them into your team.

The plan identifies the support Together into Employment can provide (e.g. on-the-job coaching and access to funding if workplace adjustments are required).

Progress is regularly monitored and the development plan is reviewed. Support will be withdrawn gradually, but can be re-introduced if necessary.
