Other Ways to Reduce Your Waste

Reduce! Re-use! Recycle!

That's the three R's and in order of importance- which might surprise you.

Reduce!

If we reduce the amount of rubbish we make, there is less of it to throw away. So for instance we could buy products with less packaging, or not take plastic bags when we buy things. Reducing saves things being made in the first place which saves energy and raw materials. Tips to reduce your waste

Re-use!

If we re-use our waste we quite simply use it again, sometimes for the same thing, often for something different. Check out the stuff that gets thrown away every week in your house. How could you re-use some of it? Tips for re-using your waste.

Recycle!

Recycling means using things that have already been used to make new things. This can involve turning the old material into a new one of the same thing. For example, drinks cans can make new drinks cans. Or, the old material can be turned into something completely different. For example, plastic drink bottles make cosy fleeces.
