Sixth form students

The Learner Support Fund is to assist students in school sixth forms whose ability to access or complete their course is inhibited by financial constraints or barriers.

Students aged 16 - 19

Students aged 16-19 can apply for a weekly Education Maintenance Allowance of up to £30 per week if they attend a full-time course in a further education college, sixth form college, or school sixth form.

Allowances are means-tested (household income up to £30,810 per year), and weekly payments depend on full attendance.

You may get a bonus if you stay on the course and make good progress.

Disabled students in Higher Education

Disabled Students' Allowances provide extra financial help if you want to study a Higher Education course and have a disability, ongoing health condition, mental health condition or specific learning difficulty like dyslexia.
