Learning Support

We have a wide range of support for students with additional needs. If you would like to discuss your own requirements, please contact the Learner Support Team on 0161 652 4313. A member of the team is always present at advice and information sessions.

Examples of equipment and learning support are:

  • Magnified screen, keyboard and an easy to control mouse for a learner in an ICT class.
  • Talking scales and microwave for a learner in a cookery class
  • Loop systems are installed in all reception areas of Lifelong Learning Centres and are available in the classroom on request.

Learning Support Workers

Our learning support workers give support in the classroom based on your individual learning needs. For example:

  • We are giving one to one support to someone who is recovering after a stroke. This learner has short term memory loss and is relearning skills for life.
  • We are supporting a learner who is a wheelchair user and communicates non-verbally.
