For some of our courses, particularly those with a qualification, you will need to meet a tutor for a skills-check or interview before enrolling. This helps us to make sure that you are on the right level and type of course for your experience and current qualifications. It also introduces you to the way the Service works and the support and facilities we offer. Please ring the contact number given in the list of courses to make an appointment.
We strongly recommend you discuss your needs before committing yourself to a substantial programme of learning.
choose the right course and suitable qualifications for your career
identify progression routes on completion of your Lifelong Learning course
put together a package of courses
plan a manageable workload
obtain course details including costs
identify what practical and financial help is available to support your learning.
If we do not offer a course that suits your needs we will help you to explore options with other providers.
You must complete an enrolment form. These are available in all our centres. If you need help to complete the form:
call in to one of our centres
visit an Advice and Guidance session
telephone our Learner Support team on 0161 652 4313
You can enrol in person or by telephoning any of our centres during the week. Some centres are open in the evening on weekdays. Please check opening hours directly with the centre.
If you will be paying a concessionary course fee you must bring proof that you are in receipt of an income based benefit. Please bring original documents as we are unable to accept photocopies.
Please note that your place on a course is not secure until payment has been made.
In full:
You can pay for your course in full when you enrol.
By instalments:
If your total fee amounts to £50 or more, we can accept payment in three equal instalments over three consecutive months. Please ask staff for details.
By telephone:
You will be able to pay over the phone (by credit/debit card only) if your course does not require a skills-check or interview and if you are paying the full fee. Please ring any centre.
By employer:
If your employer is paying for your course you must provide a letter of confirmation on letter-headed paper from your employer. We will send them an invoice.
