Oldham Family Information Service (FIS) can offer you careers advice and guidance on starting and/or developing a career in Childcare. If you think that you would enjoy a career in childcare, whether as a Childminder, Nursery Nurse, Playworker, Early Years Teacher, Learning Support Assistant or one of the other many roles in childcare then get in touch with Oldham FIS on 0800 731 1518 or call into our office on Barn Street in Oldham town centre. We have a specialist team of information workers who will be able give you guidance and advice about the different career options available, and tell you what you need to do next in order to get the job that you want.
For more information on different careers in childcare, please look at our publications page.
Oldham FIS also runs a “Making Choices” course. This free 6-week, part-time course is designed to help you decide if working in childcare, early years and playwork is really for you. It will also allow you to learn about the many different careers in childcare and speak to people that are already working in this sector. For more details on the “Making Choices” course please click here.
If you are already working in a childcare setting within Oldham, and are interested in gaining a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification call the FIS on 0800 731 1518. We can help you find a suitable training course, and offer advice and guidance about where to access funding to pay for it.
