Outdoor Pursuits

For most Outdoor Pursuits activities, we recommend that you bring a full change of clothes (including underwear, footwear and a towel). For the activities themselves wear old clothes, but try to avoid cotton (T-shirts, jeans) for water activities as it can feel cold when wet.

In the Pennines, it is a good idea to dress as warmly as possible at most times of year, bringing along a hat and gloves if possible. Prepare for the cold and wet, then hope that it's warm and dry! (Should you be fortunate enough to have warm weather, be sure to bring along a cold drink and plenty of sun screen!).

We can provide all specialist equipment for the activity, including waterproofs and walking boots where appropriate. Should you wish to bring any items of your own equipment, please check with our staff as to their suitability for the planned activity or location.

For full day activities please bring a packed lunch (no glass bottles please). We can provide rucksacks or dry packs as appropriate to the activity.
