All individuals, organisations and agencies that provide services to the children and young people of Oldham have an important role to play.
All partners of Oldham’s Children’s Trust are heavily involved in the JAR process and together hope to achieve a positive JAR grade. However, Oldham Council’s Children, Young People and Families Directorate is responsible for working directly with inspectors.
Good communication and partnership working amongst professionals is vital to improving outcomes for children and young people in Oldham. As the JAR will look at all publicly funded services for children and young people in the Borough, not just those provided by the Council, it is even more important that all partners are engaged and involved in the inspection process as a whole.
To support this, different groups with distinct responsibilities have been set up with representatives from organisations across Oldham's Children's Trust.
The JAR Programme Board is a collective group of partner agencies with high level oversight of the leadership, management and co-ordination of Oldham’s Joint Area Review. They work to ensure effective partnership engagement at all stages and ensure appropriate linkage and involvement with the Council’s Corporate Assessment arrangements. They also recieve and endorse key documents.
The JAR Project Team strategically leads, directs, and co-ordinates the arrangements for Oldham’s Joint Area Review. They engage and consult with all partners at all stages of the process to ensure the delivery of tasks and outputs that relate to particular work streams, and provide support to senior managers and other groups in the preparation for inspection.
