Local government pension scheme

The local government pension scheme provides a full range of benefits and is transferable between other local authorities.

Contributions

For every contribution you make, the Council makes a contribution too.

The cost to you is six pence for every pound you earn (less if you pay tax and National Insurance).

Guaranteed retirement package

The guaranteed retirement package includes:

• Tax free lump sum of up to one and a half times your pay

• Regular income for life - up to half your pay (which goes up every year in line with prices)
