Respite care for older people
Medlock Court offers respite care for older people living in the community.
The service is flexible at all times and is able to support and respond to the needs of older people in need of 24 hour care for short periods.
A full assessment will be carried out by a social worker or another professional before admission.
Guests are encouraged to do things for themselves, so they can live as ordinary a life as possible.
Facilities and activities
There are 21 single occupancy bedrooms available for short term respite care and 11 single occupancy bedrooms available in a specialist dementia suite for short term/respite care.
Each bedroom has a sink, wardrobe, lockable drawers and comfortable furnishings.

- Laundry
- Hairdresser once a week (there is a charge for this service)
- Books delivered from local library
- Social activities
- Dementia suite

Paying for respite care
There is a charge for staying in a care home for a period of respite.
You will need to have a financial assessment to determine the rate you will be charged.
