How is the Mayor chosen?

A Deputy Mayor is appointed for 12 months, before assuming the role of Mayor.

Oldham elects the Mayor and Deputy Mayor at the Annual Council after consideration by the group leaders. 

The Mayor appointment is subject to the nominee retaining their seat if standing for election.

The current Deputy Mayor Councillor Eddie Moores.
