The Inclusion team offers advice to parents, head teachers and school governors on the exclusion process and the Secretary of State’s Guidance on Disciplinary Exclusion from School.

An Inclusion representative attends or will send written representations to all permanent exclusion meetings held in Oldham Schools/Academies, and is invited to any meeting about exclusions of more than 15 days.

The Inclusion team is informed of all exclusions that are recorded at Oldham Schools/Academies.

Fixed-term exclusions

Fixed-term exclusions are for a set number of days.

Permanent exclusions

A permanent exclusion from school is the last sanction available to a head teacher when they believe that a pupil has seriously breached the School Discipline Policy.
