Oldham Council is proud of its men and women serving in the Armed Forces. The Council is committed to ensuring that all citizens of the Borough who are currently serving in the armed forces and veterans are not disadvantaged due to their service.
On 22 October 2013, Oldham Council signed the Armed Forces Community Covenant as a formal recognition of our commitment to the Armed Forces community.

Greater Manchester Armed Forces Steering Group
Oldham is a member of the Greater Manchester Armed Forces Steering Group which shares best practice and helps develop a strategic approach to supporting the local armed forces community across the region. Through this work, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority AFCC group was awarded the Centre of Excellence Award for a combined authority in November 2014 by the Veterans Council.
