Council Tax discount for property in need of major repairs

If your property is empty and requires major repair work to render it habitable or is undergoing structural alteration, you may be entitled to claim a 50% discount for a maximum of 12 months.

You will be required to upload evidence to support your application e.g. surveyors report, schedule of works, invoices for work, estimates and photographs

Please note, the following repairs would not qualify for a discount:

  • skimming and plastering
  • bathroom and kitchen refits
  • electric rewire or gas fitting
