Housing is not just about bricks and mortar, its about people, neighbourhoods and communities.

We are committed to building cohesive communities where everyone can live peacefully in their home regardless of their background or needs.

We have a dedicated team of Equalities and Community Cohesion (ECC) Officers who offer comprehensive support and advice to anyone who needs it.

Resettlement Support

Working with our resettlement service, our Equalities and Community Cohesion Officers (ECC) can support vulnerable tenants moving in to a new home. We can help you to establish and maintain your tenancy. This includes help with:

  • The connection of utilities (gas and electricity)
  • The moving of furniture and getting new furniture
  • Financial budgeting, debt management and information about your benefits and welfare rights
  • Emotional support and counselling
  • Accessing other services

  • Accompanying you when viewing a property
  • Arranging a security survey of your home

  • Making regular visits to your home
  • Helping to arrange visits by the Police and Community Safety Unit

Working with Local Communities

Our Equalitie and Community Cohesion Officers work in partnership with local organisations, voluntary groups and Registered Social Landlords that are involved in building cohesive communities.  This includes:
