Funding and Expenses

Getting Involved Online

The Community Fund

As part of our commitment to improving the quality of life of our customers, we are able to award grants to groups of council tenants from our Community Fund.

The Community Fund is a £15,000 pot of money, administered by our Tenant Participation Unit. A panel of tenants and leaseholders evaluates each application and make decisions about whether or not to award money, based on the individual merits of each project. The fund aims to provide money for groups who operate on our estates, to help run projects that involve and benefit the whole community.

Many groups across the borough have used this scheme to help finance a wide variety of events and projects, such as:

  • Gala Days
  • Carol Concerts
  • Community Parties
  • Educational Projects
  • Environmental Projects

We will consider almost any application. However, if money is available from elsewhere we will give advice on whom to contact.

Out of Pocket Expenses

We believe that getting involved in our services shouldn’t be a chore for customers. That’s why we agree to pay all reasonable out of pocket expenses to tenants, leaseholders and residents who give their valuable time and experience to help us, as we strive to deliver excellent housing services.

We can also help with translation services, signing and crèche facilities.

We aim to make sure that all our meetings are held in convenient central or local locations, which are accessible for people with disabilities.
