Community Cohesion Working Group
In taking a strategic approach to implementing Equality, Diversity and Community Cohesion within FCHO, the Community Cohesion Working Group (CCWG) was set up in Summer 2002 by the FCHO Chief Executive, Hugh Broadbent. The Chief Executive also leads the CCWG.
The CCWG meet on a quarterly basis and has members including FCHO key stakeholders including FCHO officers, managers, main and local board members, directors, OMBC, voluntary organisations, and other local partners. CCWG is administered by the Policy and Performance Team who advise, develop and monitor the polices and action plans on a day-to day basis. The aims of CCWG are:
- To monitor how Equality, Diversity and Community Cohesion are being addressed within FCHO and the services it delivers by monitoring implementation of the BME Strategy and Action Plan and the Equalities & Diversity Policy and Action Plan.
- To improving services for all FCHO customers, staff and stakeholders by promoting Equality and Diversity.
- Report back on how Equalities and Diversity is being mainstreamed and delivered at Area based level.
- To act as a scrutiny mechanism for FCHO and to monitor and challenge performance.
- To monitor the Equality Standard, impact assessments and other Equality and Diversity issues that FCO are working towards.
- CCWG also holds an annual event called the Community Partners Forum where the annual update on FCHOs action plans are published.
